All the hidden details of the Templar Members quest from Assassin’s Creed Shadows are today. You can only start this quest by playing as Yasuke. You need to complete his personal quest, Find leads on Duarte de Melo. Once you find the document, you will learn that you need to light three signal fires. I have shown you their locations on the map. There are no enemies here. You need to approach each signal fire and interact with it. Next, you will see a marker on the map.
You need to get to this location to see the smugglers’ movements on the shore. It is worth mentioning that the reason for this quest is a random target that Yasuke noticed while completing one of The Shinbakufu’s tasks. The Templar Members quest reveals more details about Yasuke’s history and how he ended up in Japan. It is a rather tragic fate that resulted in a strange samurai.
Kill Duarte de Melo
So evening comes and Yasuke notices movement on the shore. Yasuke realizes that his target is somewhere nearby and rushes into battle to find the place of his revenge. You need to destroy all the smugglers. Yasuke’s style is direct combat, so you don’t need to look for cover here. Run forward and rush into battle. After destroying the bandits on the shore, you will notice a boatman. After interrogating him, Yasuke realizes that Duarte de Melo is on the ship. Yasuke then forces the boatman to take him to the ship, where he will meet Duarte de Melo.
You will see the beginning of Yasuke’s story and begin to understand what this quest means to him. Duarte de Melo is your first target. You must engage him in battle on the ship. After defeating him, Yasuke will obtain a document containing an unknown Templar symbol. Yasuke decides that Frois, a character you saw at the beginning of the game, can help him.
He is located in Kyoto. After talking to Frois, the situation will become clearer and you will receive a task circle in your task map called Templar. The first target in this quest, Duarte de Melo, has already been destroyed. Now you need to investigate the chain of clues that will lead you to the main villain.

Talk to the ronin
The next target you need to find is Kimura Kei. But to do that, you need to complete an additional quest called “Talk to the Ronin.” I’ve marked the location of this conversation on the map. After the conversation, you will have a difficult mission, so prepare for it as much as possible. Upgrade your weapons and distribute your skills. You will face many enemies that you must defeat. When you are ready, go to the location I have marked on the map. There you need to find Kumabe Ujiie. Kumabe Ujiie can be found in the northern Kii.
You can find him in a cemetery north-east of the Kongobuji Temple, Koyasan. You should not follow his ronin. You should instead approach him and choose the ” I seek guidance” dialogue option. You can follow him and he’ll eventually tell you where Kimura Kei is. In the video, I chose a different answer and had to fight him. To continue my investigation, I now need to defeat Kimura Kei and the ronin accompanying him.
- Talk to Luis Frois
- Talk to ronin
- find KumabeFind Kimura Kei Ujiie
- Defeat Kimura Kei and the ronin
Assassinate Kimura Kei
Now you are ready to find Kimura Kei and destroy him. Kimura Kei Training Grounds is located in Kii’s south-west portion. The training grounds are just north of shore, roughly halfway between Sazae Oni Shores & Nakahechi Route. Follow the other students to the location of his training grounds once you reach it. Kimura Kei’s students will kill Yasuke after recognizing him. Yasuke is surrounded by ronin. Once you have killed them, more ronin will come to attack you as you make your way towards Kimura Kei. Use the best armor and weapons that you can.
Shoot the red barrels with your bow and teppo if you want to take out large groups of enemy. When you reach Kimura Kei he will start a boss battle and cannot be assassinated stealthily. You will need to equip armor engravings that allow you to parry his unblockable attacks. He will use a lot of them. This is a boss battle with multiple phases.
Kimura Kei is going to use a standard Katana for the first phase. Parrying his attacks will make him more vulnerable. Use posture attacks and abilities in order to wear out his armor. Once his armor is almost broken, he will use a Long Katana or a standard Katana. You’ll have to concentrate on dodging his attacks and getting some strikes in between them.
The fight will be moved outside once Kimura Kei’s health bar reaches about half. He can use both Katanas to deliver unblockable, high-damage attacks. Keep your distance and dodge as often as possible. You can also use a teppo or bow to attack him at a distance. You will only be able to continue this quest once you have completed all of The Shinbakufu’s tasks. Until then, the next goal will be unavailable.

Meet the Silver Queen
The next goal is Silver Queen, and here too, everything is very complicated and confusing. First, you need to meet the spy. He is sitting on a rug in the designated location. After talking to him, you will find out where to look for Silver Queen. But if you think that’s all, you are very much mistaken. When you arrive at the right place, you will find Silver Queen on the street. You need to start a dialogue with her. She will tell you that she knows who you are and has been waiting for you.
Then she will suggest that you leave the street and discuss matters there. You follow her to the house and talk while walking. Finally, when you reach the house, Silver Queen will treat you to some homemade tea. Yasuke, not expecting anything bad, agrees to drink the tea. As it turns out later, your main enemy in this quest, Nuno Caro, arranged for you to be poisoned, and Silver Queen helped him carry out his plan. When Yasuke realizes this, he sees Nuno Caro and tries to attack him, but falls down poisoned and powerless. Losing consciousness, Yasuke sees that Nuno Caro wants to shoot him, but Silver Queen says she will do it herself. At this point, Nuno Caro leaves, thinking that he has defeated a dangerous enemy with his cunning plan.
But in fact, it gets even more interesting. It turns out that Silver Queen is helping Nuno Caro’s gang not of her own free will, but because he is holding her younger brother hostage. And Yasuke is her only hope of getting rid of this captivity. That is why Silver Queen made the poison non-lethal and later tells Yasuke that she will tell him where to find Nuno Caro if Yasuke helps save her brother.

Locate Akechi Mitsuyoshi
Next, you need to find and free Akechi Mitsuyoshi. He is located on the grounds of Kameyama Castle. Accordingly, this is enemy territory, where you will encounter many enemies. You should first destroy the bells that summon guards and cause you to be wanted. Otherwise, it will be much more difficult to defeat your enemies.
Pay attention to the alarm bells and carefully destroy everyone until you reach your goal. When you meet Akechi Mitsuyoshi, you will need to get him out of the castle unharmed. The path is quite short, but you will encounter several groups of enemies that you must defeat. There is nothing complicated here, just attack all the enemies and they will focus their attention on you, not Akechi Mitsuyoshi.
When you leave the castle and reach a safe place, Akechi Mitsuyoshi will ask you to retrieve the katana that was left in the castle. It is his father’s katana and is very dear to him. Akechi Mitsuyoshi will go on ahead, and you will have to return to the castle and find Baltazar there. You must defeat him in battle and escape from the castle again.
Now the map shows the place where you are to meet Akechi Mitsuyoshi. Accordingly, if you come without a katana and do not defeat Baltazar to take it, the story will not continue. Therefore, complete the previous task. Next, you will go inside the temple, where Silver Queen awaits you. Here you will see scenes of the meeting and the presentation of the family katana, but most importantly, you will find out where to look for the main enemy, Nuno Caro.
- Locate Akechi Mitsuyoshi
- Kill Baltazar – get katana
- Return of the Katana Akechi Mitsuyoshi
Assassinate Nuno Caro
Nuno Caro is Yasuke’s ultimate goal. Nuno is about to leave Japan. Takeda Castle is in Western Tamba. Takeda Castle sits high on a mountain, at the end a winding route. Use Pathfinder to find the best way to get there. Takeda Castle has many enemies who can sound alarm bells to alert you of their presence.
As Yasuke stealth isn’t a very viable option, so disable any alarm bells you see with your teppo or bow. You’ll reach a double door set as you climb. Use it to start the encounter with Nuno. As you climb the castle, kill Nuno Caro’s men to track him down. Nuno Caro can be found at the top of Takeda Castle. He will trigger a boss battle. Nuno Caro uses a sword as well as a pistol, and his fighting style is similar to that of some of his soldiers. You can parry or block his main sword attack, which is a combination of up to four strokes. Avoid the shot of his pistol when you see it glow red.
You can use Abilities to deal high damage, make him vulnerable, and then attack. Repeat this cycle until he’s dead. The Templar Hunt Objective Board is complete once you’ve killed Nuno.
