In Doom: The Dark Ages, in Chapter 5, The Holy City of Aratum, to complete the Countercult Challenge, you need to find three locations where the Countercult is located and destroy them. This is easy to do if you complete Chapter 5 on 100%. My guide will help you do this. If you are only interested in this task, I will quickly and briefly describe it in this article.

First, I want to show you a video guide for the entire Chapter 5. You will find the locations of the Countercult at the timestamps. The first Countercult location is at 04:11. The second Countercult location is at 06:12. The third Countercult location is at 08:40.

You need to fly your dragon to the center of The Holy City of Aratum. You will see a circle on the map. Descend in the center, and you will see two titan monsters. Kill both of them, and then you will be able to land in a secret location. Once you have dealt with the current tasks, secrets, and monsters, find the place marked on my map and jump down. Here you will see the first cultist circle.

Next, you may already be familiar with this path. I told you about it when we were looking for the codex pages. So, to get to this location, you need to break the protective barrier of the first Hell Carrier. It is located to the left of all other targets. Then you will be able to land on it. A large location awaits you inside.

I have shown you the route to the cultist circle on the map. Enter the marked passage and use the shield to break the chain connection. A wooden bridge will lower on the left. Push the large container behind it. It will move, and you will be able to climb into a new passage with its help. At the end of this passage, you will find yourself in a room where the second cultist circle will be located. It is impossible to miss it if you have done everything correctly.

The last cultist circle is also quite difficult to find if you do not explore all corners of Chapter 5. We count the Hell Carriers from left to right. You need the third one. At the beginning of the location, you will find an altar for upgrading your equipment. It is marked in green on the map. Move to the right from it. You will see a round pit. Jump down, and at the bottom you will find the third cultist circle.

After destroying the third cultist circle, your Countercult challenge will be completed and you will automatically receive a reward – 1 ruby.
