The Garbage location in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is one of the most frequented locations within its Zone, as this is where all roads lead – stalkers, bandits and military alike all converge here. Old warehouses, broken-down trucks, abandoned buildings and overgrown roadways hide numerous stashes that contain loot that save lives or help you survive – valuable loot that will ensure survival and help ensure survival for everyone involved.
What are the types of stashes?
Stashes in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2’s Garbage can vary in their contents and difficulty of discovery; from those left by stalkers or bandits to items abandoned by artifacts that have fallen to bandit hands – conventionally all Stashes can be divided into categories:
Random Stashes – hidden away where they wouldn’t normally be expected such as holes in walls, under rubble, within destroyed cars, or on roofs of buildings. Marked Stashes – usually with information available by searching corpses of stalkers or receiving data via PDA.
Closed Stashes – To access these, a key or special code may be necessary.
Traps – Caches may also be mined or protected by mutants and other stalkers who mine or guard the caches in which they’re hidden.
How to find stashes?
Finding stashes in the Garbage location requires care and patience, but there are a few basic strategies that can help stalkers locate stashes more efficiently: Search corpses and backpacks. Information on possible stashes may appear in dead stalkers’ PDAs or notes found among their belongings.
Use binoculars. Some caches are only visible from certain angles, like bags or boxes hung at an elevated position.
Check common hiding places – ruin, sewer manholes, old pipes and car roof are common places where caches may be concealed. Listen for any rumors; NPCs may provide clues as to the locations of stashes through conversations with them.
